Iontophoresis
In Iontophoresis, each hand or foot is immersed in a tray containing a pad wetted with tap water. The pads are connected to a low-intensity electric current that is passed through the liquid. The currents are sent through the skin to disrupt the function of the sweat glands. Not usually recommended for underarm or facial/head Hyperhidrosis.
Cost
The cost of a home machine ranges from $200 to $800 depending on the type of unit. Health insurance may cover it, but only if you have consulted a doctor with a proper diagnosis.
Side Effects
Side effects such as skin irritation, redness and dryness can occur.
